The theme of the competition was the activation of the devastated area of ​​the city of Thessaloniki through an attractive public space with a primarily business purpose. A special review had to be made on the historically protected buildings, which were distributed without order in the competition area. The design and functional approach is based, primarily on the dynamics of shifting and shearing vertical structures, as well as the permeation of space with horizontal paths, footbridges, bridges. The goal was to spontaneously introduce visitors to an area with a large amount of diverse, well-connected content and along the way to activate the development of a narrow and wide environment that has been in stagnation for decades.
